Inspired by 2001 A Space Odyssey, we have A Wine Odyssey Dinner Evening, that will be held at Boehmer, 93 Ossington Avenue, with Chef Paul Boehmer at the helm on the culinary voyage. Boehmer is a themed restaurant that offers a well orchestrated experience in which nothing is arbitrary. It is comfortable, elegant, genuine, honest and a really cool space.

Paul’s cooking was well recognized at his long stint at Opus in the 90’s, followed by Rosewater Supper Club, Six Steps, and the Spoke Club, and now his very own Boehmer, where his 6-foot-seven-inch figure is clearly visible in the open kitchen.

Joanne Kates says, “The restaurant is clearly Paul Boehmer’s masterwork. The space is tall white and lofty, it’s as fun as New York’s Lower East Side”. So why “2001 A Wine Odyssey” you might ask, well we are pouring all 2001 vintage reds from the Cellar, including;

Baby Beets Salad, with Baby Arugula, Ontario Goat Cheese, Walnuts, Shallots dressed with a Niagara Cranberry Plum Vinaigrette

Main Course

Braised Bison Short Ribs, Parsnip Puree, Glazed Cipollini Onions, Baby Carrots and Lardons

Dessert Course

Boehmer Tarte Tatin, Maple Caramelized Apples, Short Crust, Calvados Caramel, Spiced Crème Anglaise and Amaretto Ice Cream

By TTC: take the subway to Ossington Station and take the 63 bus south to Argyle Street and walk south or take the 501 Queen streetcar to Ossington Avenue and walk north to Boehmer at 93 Ossington Avenue.. Arrive at 6:30 pm. for the reception wine and dinner at 7:15 p.m.
